2025 has been a great year for us. In January we were with family in Pennsylvania and in February we were on Maui. In early March we put our home on the market and the next few weeks were a blur. We left Colorado in our car with our bikes on the back on April 30th. Saying good-bye (for now) to friends and neighbors was really emotional but we hope this website helps us stay connected. We traveled across 22 States and 2 Canadian provinces, reconnecting with far away family and friends, and visiting some beautiful places. On August 25th we left the USA – starting in Europe. Please see our Schedule page on this website for more details.
While the rest of our Blog Posts before this one have depicted events in the order they occurred, this Blog post is more generic and contains content that crosses all of the first eight months of 2025 while we were still in the USA – and that has not been covered in previous blog posts.
Socializing with neighbors and friends Von, Chris and Adam. Loved our neighborhood group! In February at Kula Lodge on Maui with our awesome neighbors and friends Andy and Lisa. Adam and Andy rappelled off a waterfall….Susan on Maui in Feb 2025Experiencing the newly renovated Casa Bonita near Denver with longtime friends Jeff and Sandy.Hanging out with our dear friends Tess and Jack at Bruz Beers in Denver.“Summer” is 13 years old now and we were thrilled to dogsit her again just before we left Colorado. She is as goofy sweet as ever.Sold our beautiful home of 15 years in March/April. We were so proud of this home and so happy to meet the new owners, who are a perfect fit for Home Farm.
Sold Susan’s car just before we left ColoradoIt was quite the process but we managed to get rid of everything we owned except a few items we put in a small 5 x 10 storage space and whatever we could fit in the car. It feels very free to not have much stuff! So nice to get to reconnect with far away family. This is Susan’s Aunt Betty and Susan’s sister Ann.Spent an afternoon relaxing with Adam’s family at Lake Raystown Recreation area in central Pennsylvania. Adam is giving “Ryobi” some love. Look at that tongue!A birthday card for Susan in July from her sister Ann – that accurately captures a lot of the feeling of these last few months. This precious little girl is Adam’s niece Mayella, in Portage, PA
The Cadwallader Family loves Legos. We did a Legos reorganization and inventory project at Adam’s parents home. Also helped with some other minor projects around their home.On Aug 4th, Susan entered her 50th State, which was Vermont. From April to August we passed through 22 States and 2 Canadian Provinces.Spent part of our last couple of weeks in the USA at Adam’s parents home in Pennsylvania. While we were there we sold Susan’s Ebike and the bike rack. Adam’s Ebike is in storage in the basement at his parents house… for now. So that means we were down to just two checked suitcases, one roll-aboard small suitcase and two small backpacks. Getting ready to drive to Newark to sell the car and catch a flight to Europe.Sold the car and went to meet some friends for dinner on the Jersey shore. Lower Manhattan in the backgroundDuring our last day in the USA we squeezed in one last USA adventure for 2025, a trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. On the plane, getting ready to depart for Milan. We flew on a French boutique airline called “La Compagnie” with a very interesting business model. Susan learned about them through the full time travel You Tube Bloggers she has been following. If you haven’t seen it yet, go to our “Resources” page in the menu to see what we did to prepare for all of this madness and fun. Good-bye USA – until February! Next Blog post(s) will be from Europe.
