We spent about two weeks on Whidbey Island during two visits, one at the Navy Lodge in Oak Harbor and one at a house and dog sit near Langley. We hiked in four of the island’s State Parks – Deception Pass, Fort Ebey, Fort Casey, and South Whidbey. We are definitely getting our money’s worth out of the $30 Discover Pass that provides unlimited access to all Washington State Parks for a full year. We dined and walked in the small towns of Oak Harbor, Langley, Coupeville and Clinton. As expected, the seafood is delicious – as are the fresh berries that grow abundantly here. Visited some wineries, cideries and breweries, which are also abundant here 🙂
Iconic view of the famous bridge that crosses Deception Pass. This is the most visited State Park in Washington.A more distant view of the bridge at Deception Pass State ParkNorthwest Washington is very green and fertile – this is just one of a gazillion flower plants we have seen. This is “Chano”, an adorable little Chihuahua mix, who we were privileged to take care of for about a week.
